Have had a look Heather, and what I was thinking of was the diary of James McCullough. 'McCullough left Belfast in 1745.and landed at Newcastle on the Delaware. He appears to have stayed there for about four or five years, then moved to the Cumberland Valley and eventually to the Conococheague Creek area near modern Mercersburg'.
McCullough's diary is still preserved by a Cumberland Valley family.
Ah this is where the Ulster-Scots introduced the common potato crop to North America right? I believe it is still called the 'Irish Potato' by many in America today, although some mistakenly believe it was so-called for the Irish potato famine.
Thanks for recognizing Nutfield! http://nutfieldgenealogy.blogspot.com
